What B2B Buyers Are Ordering for Wedding Season
Weddings keep suppliers busy from May through September every year. Whether you're supplying a jewelry brand, a bridal boutique, or a corporate client that gives jewelry as gifts, one thing comes up again and again: the packaging matters almost as much as what's inside.
We're seeing this clearly in our own order intake right now. More buyers are reaching out about ring boxes, travel jewelry cases, and jewelry pouches than at almost any other time of year. So we thought it would be useful to share what's actually moving, what to watch out for, and how to plan your lead time if you're placing orders for summer delivery.
The Most-Requested Products Right Now

The velvet ring box never goes out of style, and it's the product we see most consistently across wedding-season orders. Buyers want them in soft ivory, blush, sage green, and of course classic black or navy. The clamshell style is most popular because customers feel a certain satisfaction when the lid opens smoothly. If you're ordering for a jewelry brand, it's worth requesting a sample with your own logo foil-stamped on the silk insert — that detail alone tends to justify a higher retail price.
Just below ring boxes in demand is the heart-shaped travel jewelry case. These have become popular not just for bridal but also for bridesmaid gifts, hen party favors, and anniversary sets. They pack a lot of perceived value into a small footprint, which makes them attractive for brands that sell at retail price points in the $20–60 range.
For higher-volume buyers — think a boutique chain or a brand that ships direct-to-consumer — the microfiber envelope pouch is a workhorse product. It's cheap to ship, easy to store flat, and when made with good-quality microfiber (200GSM and above) it looks genuinely premium. Many of our clients use these as their "everyday" packaging and save the velvet boxes for higher-price items.
Lead Time Is the Real Issue Right Now
Here's the honest answer: if you're reading this in mid-May and need goods by late June, you're in tight territory. Not impossible, but tight.
A typical production run for custom ring boxes or jewelry pouches takes 20 to 25 days after sample approval. If you're requesting a first sample, add 5 to 7 days for that. Add air freight to your destination (10 to 14 days for most of Europe or North America) and you're looking at delivery in mid-to-late July if you confirm everything by end of May.
For genuinely urgent orders, a few things help. First, choose a style from the supplier's existing range rather than designing something new — that cuts out most of the sampling time. Second, approve the sample via video and photos rather than waiting for it to reach you physically. Third, consider sea freight only for a portion of your order if you're splitting between "immediate need" and "restocking."
If your needs are flexible and delivery in late July through August works fine, you have more breathing room.
What Makes a Good Wedding Packaging Supplier
A lot of buyers come to us after a frustrating experience elsewhere, so it's worth saying plainly what to look for. The main things are: material consistency across batches (velvet color and pile height vary surprisingly between factories), hardware quality (hinges and clasps that feel solid, not loose), and responsiveness when problems come up.
Ask for production photos before the balance payment. This is not about distrust. It is a simple way to catch common issues before shipping, like uneven foil stamping or a color that photographs differently than the Pantone reference.
A Few Practical Notes
The heart-shaped travel jewelry box we carry comes with an interior mirror and ring/earring sections, which makes it genuinely useful rather than just decorative. That matters for customer retention — people keep packaging they can actually use.
For buyers who want to offer sustainable options, our linen drawstring eyewear pouches and recycled paper boxes are increasingly popular with European and Australian clients. The aesthetic is natural and warm, which pairs well with the bohemian and garden wedding aesthetic that's been popular for the past few years.
If you're unsure what quantity makes sense for a first run, most custom jewelry packaging starts at 500 pieces per design. For some in-stock styles we can go lower. We generally recommend ordering closer to 1,000 if you have the budget — the per-unit cost difference between 500 and 1,000 pieces is significant, and running out of packaging in the middle of a busy season is frustrating.
